Centro Interuniversitario di Studi di Storia Globale GLOBHIS

The Interuniversity Center for Global History Studies (GLOBHIS), established in 2019 on the basis of an agreement among the Universities of Florence, Trieste, Piemonte Orientale (Vercelli), and Tuscia (Viterbo), aims to promote and carry out research activities devoted to the analysis of intercultural relations in the early modern and modern periods (16th–20th centuries). Its approach is focused on the study of processes of connection and interaction between Italian culture(s) and European and extra-European cultural contexts.
GLOBHIS fosters scholarly debate by encouraging the exchange of information among researchers at both national and international levels and by promoting initiatives of interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, it cooperates in research activities with public and private institutions, organizes seminars, conferences, and advanced training courses, and oversees the publication of articles, monographs and edited volumes, journals, textbooks, databases, podcasts, blogs, and documentaries.
